Knitters can be weird

When I first applied to do my MA in sociology, I had planned to write my thesis on the resurgence in knitting among a younger generation of women. No longer just for grannies, I wanted to take a look at the hip, punk riot grrl ethos that had taken over the craft and was churning out everything from mohawk hats to fishnet stocking to my own epic contibution: the Beetlejuice sandworm mittens which were featured on geekcrafts.com!

I would have written about how nowadays, people have taken the craft to a whole new standard. I wrote about zombies instead, but I’d like to take the time to devote a blog posting to some of the wierd/cool knitted stuff I’ve come across lately.

Cran-beret pie, anyone?

I've always wanted one...

Forgot how to cast off?
